Job Description
The Director of Product Management for UAP’s Heavy Vehicles Division is responsible for leading the activities of the Product Management team members that are responsible for the development and maintenance of their product categories. The Director, in cooperation with the Sr. Market Managers, will develop specific product strategies that are in tune with the market needs and will promote continuous sales growth in the product categories involved. These product strategies will be presented by the Director to the Vice-president of Product Management and Senior Management for approval prior to their implementation.
Main responsibilities
- Lead the category management with the Sr. Market Managers.
- Perform with the Sr. Market Managers regular product category reviews with the support of the Gross Margin and Pricing department. Identify underperforming categories according to market share expectations.
- Sales performance – Market share growth – Competitive analysis and product positioning. Develop with the Sr. Market Managers sales development strategies:
- Maintain and develop supplier relationships respecting the UAP-HV policies and procedures that govern UAP-HV suppliers. This process includes.
- In cooperation with the Sr. Market Managers, and the product coordinator, ensure a “Best in class” merchandising strategy to maximize product strategies developed during the year.
- Lead the product team and represent the product department in front of the Traction and TruckPro members, regional leadership and team members.
Requirements
In order to join our team, you will need to name a few:
- 10 years of related experience including experience in the area of product sourcing from domestic and overseas sources and managing high profile professionals.
- As a bilingual (English and French) speaker, you will be able to work closely with colleagues and clients across Canada.
- Microsoft Office proficiency, knowledge of Access (asset).
- University degree: Business Administration, Marketing and/or a related field of study that would encompass similar disciplines as these fields of study (asset).
